My name is Laura and I am a BACP registered counsellor who works with adults in my private practice on Mondays. I understand that life can feel overwhelming and it can be difficult to make sense of how you are feeling. You may have experienced loss in your life; or feel anxious, low, stressed. judged or stuck. I can provide you with a confidential space and an emphatic listening ear, where you can be yourself and express how you feel without judgment.
About me and my practice
I consider myself as a down to earth person and I hope that this comes across in my approach to counselling. The core of my approach is person-centred which means that I am led by you and I will help you to explore your worries, feelings and views to enable you to increase your self awareness and achieve greater autonomy over your life.
I trained in an integrative way, which means I am able to draw on other counselling approaches, to fit with you as an individual. I undertook some additional training, which means that I am able to work in a trauma informed way. Counselling doesn't always have to be talking and we can incorporate some more creative ways of working together, if this is what you want.

Counselling Qualifications:
Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.
Level 4 Award in Rape and Sexual Abuse Counselling.
Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling (ACTO Level1).
Transactional Analysis 101.
Level 2 Award in Safeguarding for Counsellors.

Bsc (Honours) Psychology
I am currently studying the Level 6 Advanced Specialist Diploma in Child and Young Person Counselling.

Initial Consultation
I will offer you a free 20 minute consultation over Microsoft TEAMS. Although we will not be able to go into depth, I will ask you about what you would like to bring to counselling and what your needs are. You will have an opportunity to ask me any questions and see if I am the right fit for you. If you wish to go ahead we would book in six initial sessions. They would normally be for the same time each week. Please ensure that you have privacy during our consultation call.
